Phase 4: Strategy & Execution
Test-taking strategies, memory techniques, and your final readiness checklist
Time Management (45 Minutes / 20 Questions)
- Average: ~2 minutes 15 seconds per question
- First pass (30 min): Answer every question you're confident about. Flag uncertain ones.
- Second pass (10 min): Return to flagged questions. Eliminate obviously wrong options.
- Final pass (5 min): Review all answers. Don't change unless you're certain.
Elimination Technique
When unsure, eliminate options you KNOW are wrong:
- Any option with "President" → WRONG (Canada has no President)
- Any option giving federal government control over education or health care → WRONG
- Any option referencing events/dates that seem too recent or too old for the context → suspicious
Key Principle: Don't Overthink
- The test is based on Discover Canada — answers are straightforward
- If two options seem correct, choose the one most directly supported by the guide
- Your first instinct is usually right — only change if you're genuinely certain
